Makeup Forever's Aqua Rouge #8Since I am attending the USMC Birthday Ball I really don't want to get up during the ceremony or constantly be worrying and wondering about how my lipstick is holding up. So I needed something that would last me ALL NIGHT without too many touch ups. It needed to last me from 3:30 P.M - 5:00 P.M for a photo shoot and most importantly, it needed me to last from 5:00 P.M to 2:00 A.M during the ball. So the search was on and I stumbled across Makeup Forever's Aqua Rouge #8 on Sephora's online store. After reading the reviews on the site, and doing some outside research on Google, I got a mixed result. Some loved it, some just liked it, and others hated it. I decided that I was going to purchase it and hope for the best.
When I got home I applied MUFE's Aqua Rouge #8 at 5:30 p.m over EOS Lip Balm. I know long wearing lipsticks are suppose to be drying, so I went ahead and tested it with some lip balm to see how it would do. After applying the balm, the lipstick and the lip gloss the lip color very sheer-ly transferred to my skin (say like a cherry chap stick after kissing the back of your hand) which I blame on the fact that I put lip balm on before the application. It was hardly noticeable, but because I was paying close attention, it was noticeable to me. I didn't remove it because I wanted to see if the actual color would fade while wearing the lip balm under. I ended up taking a nap and woke up around 7:30 p.m with the lip color slightly faded but still in place. I was pretty pleased. I ate some dinner, which was cheesy casserole and some potato salad and had no transfer to my cup, fork or food.
"AQUA ROUGE is a waterproof, ultra long lasting lip color. It's highly pigmented formula contains a weight polymer that gives immediate, lasting color that won't transfer. The precision applicator shapes the lips and it's lightweight texture glides on effortlessly for full, even coverage. Brush on the clear topcoat to lock in the color on the lips for an even longer lasting hold and lacquered effect"
Application tip: Allow lip color to dry before top coat application

About my lips:
My lips are annoyingly big and I have some fine lines towards the middle. They tend to dry out when I haven't used lip balm for a about a week. Some lip products cause my lips to peel even if I exfoliate before application.
The product did not dry out my lips. It did not overly define fine lines. And the product did not make my lips peel like some lip sticks and lip balms do.
Tips and other thoughts on this product:- When applying this product do not apply a thick layer. Apply to the bottom lip, rub lips together then line your arches. Although I did not use one, I suggest using a lip liner for precise arches. The color does not bleed, but I would still use a liner for precision. (I'm going to buy the Aqua Rouge Liner now that I know this product works well)
- Work quickly because the product will dry on the doe applicator if you leave it out for too long.
- Only apply one layer of the product or expect it to flake. The color is very pigmented so you don't need to over apply.
- IF you apply a lip balm apply a thin layer, let it sink into your lips and then apply product. But it didn't dry out my lips AT ALL so I don't really recommend using a balm.
- Let the product dry completely before you apply gloss. Otherwise it probably won't dry under the gloss and could transfer.
- Product does well without the gloss. But the gloss is to keep lips moisturized as well.
Final Thought:I plan on trying this maybe two more times before I attend the ball. But as of right now, I have great belief in this product and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. My grandmother even said she wanted the product because she saw how long it lasted! I would definitely recommend this to a friend and I will be repurchasing if I ever run out.
