Revlons Super Lustrous Lipstick

If you read my post Lots of Lip, you saw that I bought several other colors from Revlon. I went back before the sale ended to pick up some more lipsticks. Here is what I got.

 From left to right:
Wink of Pink, Raspberry Bite, Love that Red
Raspberry bite, Love that Red, Wink of Pink
FLASH, NO FLASH

A while back I had discovered that I DID NOT like lipsticks labeled with "pearl' after buying a lipstick from Cover Girl. So since then I have made sure to stay away from those. I also had bought Sky Pink in Matte and hated it, so I didn't want to buy any more Matte lipsticks (from Revlon at least) and now I am sticking to Creme lipsticks.

I really wanted Fuchsia Fusion but they were out so I found Raspberry Bite instead. I actually really like this color, I think it will work for me in the winter. Just like the other creme lipsticks, this applied very well and I look forward to wearing it.

Love that Red. Love that Red is pretty similar to Certainly Red in my Lots of Lip post. I think Certainly Red is slightly darker but if you are looking for distinctively different Reds, opt for another color because this one's pretty much the same.

Lastly, Wink of Pink is very light and for me, it almost doesn't appear on my oddly colored lips which is my only con. The color is pretty in the packaging and eventually I will use to lighten up other colors. It doesn't really feel like lipstick, it feels more like the Revlon Lip Butters, or a very sheer chapstick.
.
I like that Revlon has Love that Red in a Nail Polish, but what I don't understand is why Revlon doesn't have these lipstick colors in lip liner. Maybe they do, and I haven't seen them at my store, but I all I have seen are some other packaged liners that are nothing like the colors I have, and they are almost 10.00, to me that seems a lot but I haven't bought lip liner before.

Do you use lip liner? Do you use nude or go with the exact same color? Do you prime your lips before wearing lipsticks? I would love to know!

  1. These look lovely! I really want a raspberry coloured lipstick for this fall/winter, so I'll check this one out for sure :)
And I actually don't own any lipliners! I only really got into wearing lipsticks this year, and I haven't really found that I need lipliners! And I don't prime them, but I apply a lip balm ahead of time to make sure my lips aren't flaky and are nice and moisturized!

    1. I feel like I need to be smiling all the time in order for my lips to slip decent because I guess I have a lot of lines of my lips! Maybe I will get a good picture of them later. I apply chapstick too, or vaseline at night! And if they need it I scrub them.

I think that berry color would look great with your skin! And me too, I got into wearing them this year too. Or at least buying them and admiring them.

  2. These are such pretty colors! I really like the reds you pick out, though I don't have any I really want to buy one.
I haven't bought lip liner either, which isn't too odd for my I guess since I'm not too into lip products. Though in most tutorials I see, they usually use a lip liner that is close to the shade of lipstick they're using. I'm not sure if it really matters, do you know? It may just be personal preference. Great post! (:

    1. I have seen people line it with nude then just go over it with the color of the lipstick they are using. But I just haven't tried it. I looked at some today but didn't pick any up because I was unsure of myself -_- I wasn't too into lip products either, I liked buying them because they were pretty but hardly wore them. I don't know if it needs to be exact! I guess I need to look at some videos.

  3. I loooooove the two outer colours you picked out! Have you tried the Revlon Balm Stains yet? Everyone has been raving about them, but I can't find them in any stores in Canada!

    1. Aren't they pretty! Aw that stinks! It's so easy to find Revlon here, but I haven't tried them either. They are very similar to my Clinique Chubby Stick that I got back in December and then Revlon came out with those, I have seen them a lot on other blogs! Where in Canada do you live? I will try them out eventually I am sure, maybe when another sale goes on because I don't see myself being crazy about them.

  4. The best part about lipliner is that it makes the lipstick stay on your lips way way longer, which is ideal if you are going to be eating or talking lots! It also stops the lipstick from bleeding, which is especially important on darker shades. And the best part about it is you can draw the line on the outer edge of your lips which creates the effect that you have bigger lips. I just have a nude liner for lighter shades and a middle of the road red one for my red shades. It doesn't have to match exactly, but sometimes it can change the colour or texture slightly. I just use the cheapest ones I can find too, I don't really have a brand preference. because the quality is mostly the same. Lol I only know all of this because I did ballet for 17 years so I am a pro at stage make up. Hope this helps Sherry! x

    2. Yay! Finally! An answer! Haha I must refer this to Chrissy from Chrissy Ai. I can't wait to go back to the store and look at some liners, but I agree, I am not gonna spend a lot on them, especially since I don't have experience with them and don't know if I will like them. As for making lips bigger, I agree! But I don't want bigger lips lol I guess I should post a picture later of me in one of the lipsticks.

      Thanks so much Sylvia! (:

And yes, I added it last night I thought it was so pretty and I loved the design! I need to fix mine, I don't like it

  6. Awesome, awesome, awesome lip colors!! I don't wear lipstick except on special occasions, like date night or a wedding or something. I usually go with a nude kind of color because I am not bold enough to try something bright!

Also, I nominated you for The Liebster Blog award by the way - check out my post to see what you do next :)

    1. I'm not bold enough to wear my lipsticks out yet. But hopefully in the winter I will be able to wear my berry red!

      Thank you so much Sarah!

  7. I also love creme finishes. These look lovely and I love your swatches! I use lip liner sometimes, but I only use one color...I forgot the name, but it's a nude color from Urban Decay. I also used to use a primer, but it was too much for my lips. I just put a moisturizer like aquaphor on my lips before applying lip color :)

    1. So I can use a nude then! Great cause I didn't want to buy too many colors for each lipstick.
